I know I am suppose to be posting recipes here.
So, here is a hack from me to you. These are pictures of seeds of a variety of green called Mustard Green or Lai Xaak as we call it in Assamese. This winter when my Mom visited me she got me Mustard Greens from her garden.
Luckily she got them along with the roots. So after we used the leaves, instead of putting the roots in the bin I put them in the soil. Within a few days new leaves grew, and trust me when I say that I didn't need to buy Lai Xaak this winter. The plants matured and then it had flowers, and now seeds too.
I am storing the seeds to see if I can manage to sprout. It may or may not sprout. But then hey, I still have a small batch of home grown 'rai' to temper my Dal with for the next few days. Bingo.. Also follow me on Instagram at @thelazycookmanual
