Dark Chocolate Mousse

♥️
Drive away those Monday Blues with this decadent chocolate mousse. Easy to rustle and the proportion can be increased if you need to make for more.
I used all ingredients from Amul.

Serves -2-3 person

Ingredients:

250 ml milk
25 ml cream
40 gm sugar (I prefer my mousse slightly bitter, but add some more if you like a sweeter taste)
15 gm cocoa powder
15 gm cornflour
A pinch of salt
70 gm dark chocolate
🍽️
Method:
Mix all the ingredients together (except the dark chocolate), pour through a sieve. Bring to a boil till it thickens. Add the dark chocolate and then let it melt and mix properly. It will reach a mousse consistency almost as soon as it melts. Turn off the stove and put it in a cake tin or mould. Let it cool and then put in the fridge for a few hours to set. Invert. You can dust cocoa powder on top.

** Use a hot knife to cut the mousse
**Increase or decrease the level of sweetness by adding more sugar
** You can use milk chocolate, but I prefer a slightly bitter taste

    1. Hi Vidya, I haven't tried with anything other than white and brown sugar. I think since honey is liquid the texture will turn out different if the taste remains almost the same. You can also try with jaggery, but add it when the custard starts to thicken, but again there might be a slight difference in the texture. Is it possible to use palm/coconut or brown sugar instead of the white refined sugar? You could try with sugar free, but sugarfree does have an after taste.

  5. Tried this twice and turned out amazing. Rated on a combination of ease and taste, it's the best dessert I've made at home. Also, for people who are starting out with homemade desserts due to lockdown, you can't go wrong with this. It's really difficult to screw this recipe, unlike most others.

  6. This recipe is super easy and fun to follow. Despite my lack of cooking experience the final result was always delicious. I would definitely recommend this recipe to others, especially those who aren't fond of cooking misadventures :)
