Apple Crumble

I am sure all of you are loving all the scrumptious recipes that have been posted recently in this blog. I have absolutely loved them. But when Priyam told me to contribute to this blog, I was totally unprepared because of my lack of discipline in recording the recipes of the dishes that I usually make. I am sure some of you can relate to this. But I also saw this as an opportunity to reflect on my style of cooking and sharing it with others. And why not? After all food is a catalyst that bonds us all. Does it not? So here I go. Sharing my first baking recipe, i.e the humble “Apple crumble”. This simple dessert is very popular in my family and every time it is made it vanishes in no time.

INGREDIENTS:  (SERVES: 4 people)
  • 3 Apples
  • 75 gm flour
  • 75 gm sugar
  • 50 gm butter

METHOD:
Step 1: Peel and slice the apples into tiny pieces and place them in a baking tray to form the bottom layer.

Step 2: Use the rubbing in method to mix the flour and butter. Add sugar later.

Step 3: Put the mixture on top of the apples on the baking tray.

Step 4: Put the tray in a pre heated ( 5mins) oven for 30 mins at 160 degree. Your Apple crumble is ready.

You can serve it either hot or cold. I like to have it hot by pouring some chilled vanilla custard on top.
