Eat, Drink and Be Merry- Steam Fish

So here finally I am doing it. After so many procrastination, I have finally decided to write, and that too about food.  Food and me share a love-love relationship, and it is this love for food that had for quite sometime had me thinking that perhaps I should pen a few of my creations here.

For the first blog let me start with a super easy and my favorite Steamed Fish. It is a low fat, low cal diet that's  rich in essential fats and nutrients, and the fact that its so easy to cook, makes it to my first list here.

Ingredients:
Fish- About 4 pieces, cleaned and cut
Lemon Juice- 1 and 1/2 lemon (depending on taste)
Salt- to taste
Garlic pods- About 6-7 (cut into small pieces)
Ginger- About 1-11/2inch (cut into small pieces)
Fresh Coriander - A bunch
Green Chillies- 2-3, slit
Tomatoes- 1 (cut and diced, optional)
Olive/Mustard Oil- 1-2 table spoons

Method : Rub lemon juice and salt into the fish and marinade for about half an hour. Once done transfer it to a steam bowl, and sprinkle garlic and ginger on top. Drizzle olive/mustard oil. Add the green chillies too. If adding tomatoes, add those too and then transfer it into a steamer and steam for about ten minutes. After ten minutes, check to see if the fish is well cooked. The fish will turn nice and white and the juices will run out, additionally one tends to get some nice flavour of the ginger-garlic, lemon and coriander mixed with the oil. If you think it still needs a few more minutes to cook, steam it for some more time.

Accompaniments: Steam Rice, Steam Vegetables
